Senator Calls for Rumsfeld to Step Down

Senator Christopher Dodd is adding his voice to those calling for Donald Rumsfeld to resign:
WASHINGTON -- Sen. Christopher J. Dodd, traditionally a strong advocate of allowing a president to have whatever appointees he chooses, Sunday called for Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld to step down.

The secretary, whom Dodd has backed - often reluctantly - for years, was showing too much "arrogance" and incompetence to continue, the Connecticut Democrat said on "Fox News Sunday."

"Clearly," Dodd said, "Secretary Rumsfeld needs to move on." President Bush, Dodd added, "would be very wise, in my view, to ask him to step aside."
