Faux News Exposed

Fox News really is the Republican propaganda network. Daily Kos posts the definitive news on the 'fair and balanced' news channel:
... this nugget from Kerry pollster Mark Mellman...
Fox News viewers supported George Bush over John Kerry by 88 percent to 7 percent. ...

We have a president who hears only what he wants to hear. Apparently, a significant number of Republicans have caught the same virus.

Today's Republicans, with few exceptions I can detect, are steeped in their own propaganda and worldview. Among those who label themselves conservative, it appears to be more thorough than 1950's Russians' embrace of Marxist-Leninist dogma.

One doesn't have to work too hard to find Democrats who oppose abortion on demand and a timetable for getting our troops out of Iraq.

But go looking for a conservative Republican who would reject the NRA stand on anything or have a kind word to say about any union, and you might as well be looking for the next winning Powerball Lottery ticket.

It's eerily reminiscent of the Nazi orthodoxy so many Germans embraced in the 1930s, emboldening Hitler to do his anti-Semitic and conquest-seeking worst.

S.W., I'm surprised at how monolithic Republicans have become and how much they buy into the authoritarian mindset, and yet their numbers are beginning to fall. It's interesting that the fired US Attorney considered themselves loyal Republicans and are not too happy about the way they were ousted.

But those few exceptions you speak of are beginning to increase in number, albeit slowly. Here and there, some Republicans are beginning to think about how they can rebuild their party on a sounder basis.
