Catching Up
My power went out for nine hours today so I'm still catching up. From what I can see so far, this is going to be one busy weekend. I predict Bush's 29% approval rating will now open the gates. Bush's approval meltdown roughly began with his attempt to bamboozle the American people on his so-called Social Security reform, but that was mostly slippage.
The numbers slide began in earnest in July of last year with the Fitzwater revelations about the Valerie Plame CIA outing and Bush's sudden change of the rules on who gets fired from the White House.
It's been downhill ever since with one revelation after another plus major displays of incompetence with events like Hurricane Katrina.
More in a bit.
